Overview
This document defines the pricing and invoicing experience for RelayStack's usage-based developer platform. It is the working specification shared by Product, Engineering, Finance, Support, and Product Marketing.
Pricing tiers
Our pricing should feel predictable before it feels clever. We will keep the entry tier approachable, avoid hidden platform fees, and explain overages in plain language.

Customers
Existing Starter customers will move to Developer automatically. Existing Team customers will keep their current price for six months before moving to Scale, giving workspace owners time to review projected usage and update internal budgets.
Invoice experience
Invoices show the subscription period, included usage, billable overages, credits, taxes, and the payment method charged. Included usage and overages appear as separate line items so customers can reconcile charges quickly.
Open questions
- Should annual subscriptions include a 15% discount?
- Do tax-inclusive invoices apply to every European Union customer?
- Should usage alerts default to 80% and 100% of the monthly allowance?
